It’s the 4th. The statements are here.
Three accounts, a card, and a hundred-and-some lines each. Someone has to read every one, decide what it was, and key it into QuickBooks. That someone is you, or someone you pay.
The 14-Day Clean Books Takeover for Trades
Statements in, every line posted to QuickBooks only after a person approves it, and a countersigned month certificate your CPA can trust. Books closed every month, ready to hand to your CPA, without you touching a spreadsheet.
Or call 816-533-6895. If we miss you, we call back within 5 minutes during business hours.
Made for service & trades businesses, and the bookkeepers who keep them straight.
Live on the books of 6 businesses across 2 owners.
Connect QuickBooks, answer the two intake questions, send your statements, and work your approval queue. If a complete statement that ties to its own totals isn’t proposed and tied within 48 hours of arriving, or your first month certificate isn’t countersigned within 14 days of every statement for the month arriving and your approvals being done, we refund the setup fee and you keep your QuickBooks file. The only open items will be questions for you or your CPA. No contract on the pay-setup plan: leave any time and keep your clean books and your logins.
Two of us run every setup, so we take 8 companies a month. Books clean before January is the deadline, and the November and December spots are the last ones that make it before tax season.
Act 1 — The month you know
Three accounts, a card, and a hundred-and-some lines each. Someone has to read every one, decide what it was, and key it into QuickBooks. That someone is you, or someone you pay.
It’s the deposit that’s already in there from an invoice, waiting to get booked twice. The check with no name on it. The month that’s off by $61.40 and won’t say why. A single double-booked deposit can take days to find and unwind. Hand-coding is slow; undoing hand-coding is worse.
Act 2 — The ride: one statement, start to finish
01
Upload the PDF from your phone or desk — the same file the bank gave you. No bank logins, no feed connections. The file is checked and fingerprinted so the same statement can’t sneak in twice.
✓ Done — 87 items ready to review.
02
Beginning balance plus deposits minus withdrawals has to equal the ending balance the statement itself printed — and every line has to sum to the statement’s own totals. Every statement is checked against its own printed totals. If it doesn’t tie, nothing from it posts until it does, and we ask you for the missing page.
03
“Fuel stop, looks like the truck card — Fuel & Auto, 94% confident.” Bookhand reads your QuickBooks chart of accounts, synced at setup and whenever your accountant changes it. Every proposal shows its reasoning; nothing hides in a black box.
04
A deposit with no name, a check with no payee, a line that could be two things — those hold, with a short card that asks the one question a human can answer: “Who was this check written to?” The judgment calls — owner draws, money moving between your companies — get routed to your accountant with the question already written.
The statement shows this check’s number and amount but not who it was written to. Look it up and enter the payee — the engine categorizes it from there.
Who was this check written to?05
This isn’t a caveat — it’s the feature. You (or your bookkeeper) tap through the queue on your phone: approve, fix, or hold. Every tap is written to a permanent audit log with your name on it. AI proposes; people decide.
You can decide these
Checks — who was this written to?
06
Real Purchases and Deposits in your actual books — not a side ledger, not a pending feed. Every record carries a durable tag, and every posting run first checks QuickBooks for what’s already there, so the same entry structurally cannot post twice.
07
Every posted record carries a durable tag, so the same entry can’t post twice, and corrections are re-read from QuickBooks and compared. Voids are $0 records with a note, and every change to your books is logged with a name.
08
If you invoice in QuickBooks, your customer payments are already there — so Bookhand matches the bank deposit to your record instead of creating a new one. Same for payroll run through QuickBooks. Double-booked income isn’t a thing it avoids carefully; it’s a thing the guards make impossible.
09
Posted, matched, or held with a named reason — every single line, with the totals checked against the statement’s own printed numbers, both directions. That’s the month certificate. Norse AI countersigns your first three months while Bookhand learns your vendors. If anything in the month changes later, the certificate flags itself stale, and a daily scan looks for duplicate postings.

Act 3 — The month after Bookhand
Clean native records with the check numbers on them, deposits matched to the payments you recorded, an audit trail behind every entry, and a name on every change. Your accountant gets a book they can trust, with the judgment calls queued up and the questions pre-written.
And here’s the part of your month you get back:
Nothing posts without a person’s approval: yours, your bookkeeper’s, or ours on lines you’ve told us to handle. Business-vs-personal, owner draws, tax questions — those are yours and your accountant’s, always; Bookhand just tees them up. It never creates invoices, never runs payroll, never posts income you already record, and never guesses.
You send statements and answer plain questions. No software to learn — the queue reads like English and works from your phone.
Multiple companies, mixed-use cards, backlog, personal spend tangled in — that’s the normal case here, not the exception.
The keying and matching grind automated, final judgment kept human. Access is granted per company, so a bookkeeper sees only what they should.
No. Every entry is approved by a human first. There is no invisible-write mode.
No. Bookhand reads the statement PDFs — no bank credentials, no Plaid.
That’s the exact problem the matching layer exists for — your records get matched, never re-created.
Nothing from it posts until it ties. Every statement is checked against its own printed totals, and if it doesn’t tie, we ask you for the missing page.
Voids are $0 records with a note, and every change to your books is logged with a name.
No. Payroll run through QuickBooks gets matched, not re-created. Tax and judgment questions go to you and your accountant — with the question pre-written.
QuickBooks accounting scope only, via Intuit’s standard connection. No formal security certification yet — and here’s what does exist: your data is isolated row-by-row from every other client, QuickBooks tokens are stored encrypted, write permissions are separated, and every action lands on a full audit trail.
Setup is a one-time fee, paid when you say yes. Then $500 every 4 weeks for most businesses, depending on transaction volume, cancel any time. We quote the setup fee on a 20-minute call once we’ve seen how many accounts and companies you run, and the call is where you book.
Connect QuickBooks with the standard Intuit sign-in, accounting scope only. Answer two questions: who records your income, and how payroll runs. Then upload one month’s bank statements through the secure link. Within 48 hours of your statements arriving, every line is proposed in plain English against your own chart of accounts, tied to the statement’s own totals, and waiting in your queue with the holds explained. Approve from your phone. Nothing posts without a person’s approval: yours, your bookkeeper’s, or ours on lines you’ve told us to handle. Nothing is charged for the first month. Then book 20 minutes and Gabriel walks you through it.

Thanks — we call within 5 minutes during business hours, 8 to 5 Central. If the month-end pile is on your desk right now, leave it there. That’s kind of the point.
